During their Lenten fast the Paulaner Monks of Munich petitioned the Pope to allow them to consume a dark strong nutritious lager to sustain them during their fast. These biers became known as “Doppelbock”. In this tradition, KCBC brews it’s Doppelbock, a true example of liquid bread that is a rich, smooth malt-forward brown lager that is big and complex, yet retains the delicious drinkability of a crisp clean lager.
