Take a look at the photo on the right. Those five beers – Helles (pale lager), Dunkel (brown lager), Hefeweizen (pale wheat), Weizenbock (strong wheat) and Double Alt (German IPA) – are on tap at the brewery. You’ll be able to drink them in the beer hall.
KC Bier Co. is the vision of Steve Holle, who wanted to brew authentic German beers in Kansas City. Last July, Holle told The Pitch: “I love German beer for its simple depth of flavor and approachability. I think there’s a niche in the middle between light and really extreme beers. It’s simple beer, like eating fresh bread. If it’s served fresh, it’s always good.”
Holle has teamed up with brewer Karlton Graham, a Kansas Citian who attended a brewing academy in Munich.
They’ve cut the ribbon (here’s a look via Twitter). Head on over and let us know what you think. We’ll hopefully have a report soon.
