We’re pleased to share that Kansas City Bier Company won three medals at the 21st Annual Great International Beer, Cider, Mead & Sake Competition (GIBCC), Nov. 11, 2017 in Bridgeport, Conn., at which more than 835 beverages from domestic and international producers were judged by 120 industry professionals.
Doppelbock won gold in the Bock Beer category; Festbier took the silver in the Vienna/Oktoberfest lager category; and Hefeweizen nabbed the bronze in the German Wheat Ale category. This marks our fourth consecutive year bringing hardware back to Kansas City from GIBCC, winning three medals each in 2016, 2015 and 2014.
We’re proud to bring these medals back to Kansas City, and believe they are a testament to our commitment to brewing high-quality and genuine German-style beers using only traditional German brewing methods and imported ingredients. Our mission always has been to brew authentic-tasting German-style beer and deliver it with the same character, flavor and freshness as beer brewed and consumed in Germany, and we’re honored that our investment in time-honored methods continues to be recognized at this prestigious competition.
Doppelbock and Hefeweizen are currently available on tap in our Bierhalle. Festbier will return later this year as our fall seasonal…and you can’t have KC Oktoberfest without a Festbier!
Prost!
