Our annual German-style New Year’s Eve Celebration has a new theme this year: B.Y.O.B., as in bring your own blanket! Put on a few extra layers and your warmest coat, bring some blankets and enjoy draft bier discounts while you ring in the new year outside in the Biergarten! Or, order one of our brand new KC Bier Co-branded blankets on shopkcbier.com!
If you’ve been to previous New Year’s Eve events at the brewery, this year’s event will look a little different. We won’t be packing in the crowds; rather, we’ll have limited, socially-distanced seating inside and are encouraging guests to bundle up and celebrate in the Biergarten.
Please take note of the following rules:
- Masks are required. No exceptions.
- No parties more than 8 guests
- Last call will take place at 6:00 PM, with no bier served after 6:30 PM so the brewery can close by 7:00 PM.
So — grab some blankets, put on extra layers and celebrate with discounted pours* of any bier not over 8% ABV, based on the following temperature/discount scale:
- 55-51° = 15% off
- 50-46° = 25% off
- 45-41° = 35% off
- 40° and below: 50% off
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
- LIVE STREAM FROM BERLIN @ 12:00 to 6:00 PM (Bierhalle Only): Live stream of the annual New Year’s Eve Sylvester Show in Berlin (a live variety show)
- LIVE POLKA WITH BRAM IN THE BIERGARTEN @ 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM: Join your fellow merrymakers in classic German drinking songs with Bram and Jürgen on the deck!
- SHORT FILM, DINNER FOR ONE @ 4:00 PM (Bierhalle Only): While Bram takes a set break during the live polka show, enjoy watching this 15-minute short film, which has been a popular New Year’s Eve tradition in Germany for more than 40 years.
- “MIDNIGHT” COUNTDOWN (5 PM): We’ll toast the arrival of 2020 at 5 PM CST when the clock strikes midnight in Germany. Nice and early!
- JELLY DONUT TOAST (5:15 PM-ish): You can’t usher in a new year without another classic German tradition — jelly donuts! It’s been said the jelly donut originated in Berlin in the late 18th Century. People outside of Berlin call the donut a Berliner. People in Berlin simply call them Pfannkuchen (pancakes). Whatever you wish to call it, eat your donut carefully, because it may contain mustard in place of jam!
*For those willing to brave the cold and enjoy a few rounds, we kindly ask that you support our staff by tipping your servers on the pre-discount price of the bier.
To receive the discount, there are a few rules:
- Your server will record the temperature when after you have been seated — this is the discount you’ll receive for the duration of your visit
- Discounts only applicable to bier under 8% ABV
- Guests must spend entire visit in the Biergarten
- Discounts are forfeited for guests who move inside
- Cannot be combined with other discounts
Bundle up, grab a bier and get toasty!
