We appreciate all styles of beer, but we are in love with fresh German ales and lagers. Our mission is to brew authentic tasting German-style bier and deliver it with the same character, flavor, and freshness as bier brewed and consumed in Germany.
Imported Flavor
Like grapes, malt and hops reflect the terroir where they are grown. The growing season in central Europe is cooler and wetter than the hot, dry northern Great Plains where most domestic malting barley is grown. Different growing conditions affect the flavor of the malt. European malt is not better than domestic malt, but the character is different and the same goes for hops, which is why we import our malt and hops from Germany to produce an authentic German flavor. KC Bier Co.’s two primary yeast strains were acquired from a Bavarian monastery by our founder.
Local Freshness
There is a saying in Bavaria, “Bier tastes best when consumed in sight of the brewery’s smokestack.” That’s because travel time and warm temperatures in unrefrigerated shipping containers reduce the freshness of imported bier.
Besides being local, our bier is also unpasteurized, unfiltered, and naturally carbonated to protect freshness.
