KC Bier Co. is partnering with KCUR 89.3 FM to present Backyard Bands at Bier Co., an outdoor live music series hosted in the Biergarten the first Monday of the month from May – August. The final installment of the series takes place on Monday, Aug. 5 featuring performances by progressive folk trio Olivia Fox, and a Latin jazz-salsa ensemble led by Pablo Sanhueza.
Olivia Fox is an all-female trio featuring multi-instrumentalists Lauren Flynn, Aubrey Callahan and Tiffany Smith, who blend programmed beats with traditional folk melodies, three-part harmonies and live instrumentation, including guitars, keyboards, violin, ukulele, mandolin.
Percussionist Pablo Sanhueza is Kansas City’s premier salsa & Latin jazz musician and bandleader and artistic director of the Kansas City Latin Jazz Orchestra. He has been leading ensembles for 15 years, distinguishing himself as one of the foremost exponents of Latin American and Caribbean music across the Midwest.
