KC Bier Co. is celebrating its 6th Anniversary with a bier festival in the brewery and bottling hall on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 1-6 PM featuring 20 small-batch specialty biers, German-style festival fare, and as always, plenty of Gemütlichkeit! Read on for full festival details and FAQs.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door and include a 7 oz. sampling glass to take home and six bier tokens, which can be redeemed for (3) full pours or (6) half-pours. Please note that in order to ensure a comfortable experience for all festivalgoers, advance ticket sales will be limited to 500 attendees, with 150 tickets available at the door.
HOW DO I BUY TICKETS?
Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite here.
HOW DO I GET BIER?
There are multiple bier serving stations throughout the festival area in the brewery and bottling hall. Festival attendees may purchase bier tokens inside the festival, which can be redeemed for pours. One token is redeemable for a half-pour (2.5 oz), two tokens can be redeemed for a full pour (5 oz). Additional tokens will be available for purchase for $2 each.
WHERE DO I BUY TOKENS?
Tokens must be purchased at the designated token stations in the festival area only. You cannot purchase tokens in the Bierhalle.
CAN I BRING MY OWN MUG?
No. Outside mugs are not allowed in the anniversary bier festival or Bierhalle.
WHAT BIER WILL BE SERVED?
Each of our brewers made a unique style of his/her choosing, plus we’ll have a handful of high-alcohol and barrel-aged bier, limited quantities of seasonal bier and several other spezial releases we’ve been reserving just for the occasion. This your opportunity to taste samples of our traditional German-style bier as well as our non-Reinheitsgebot-compliant bier.
ARE TOKENS REFUNDABLE IF I DON’T USE THEM ALL? CAN I USE LEFTOVER TOKENS FROM PREVIOUS KC BIER CO EVENTS?
No, they are not refundable, but save them! You can use them at other events such as KC Oktoberfest, future anniversary festivals and others advertised as using the token system. Consider those extra tokens you’ve stashed away as a little extra spending money for a future event.
CAN I USE TOKENS IN THE BIERHALLE?
No. We do not accept tokens as a form of payment in the Bierhalle for bier or food. They can only be used in the festival area for bier samples.
WILL THERE BE FOOD SERVED AT THE FESTIVAL?
A limited menu of bratwurst, pretzels, bier cheese soup and sauerkraut will be served inside the festival. Food is not included with the entry fee and can be purchased at the designated food station in the festival area. We accept cash or card. Tokens cannot be redeemed for food. Festivalgoers who wish to order from our full menu must order and pay
WILL THERE BE A SOUVENIR MUG AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE?
Yes! There will be a .5L commemorative anniversary mug available for purchase in the Bierhalle or in small quantities in the festival area. You may purchase the mug only for $6 or purchase the mug and fill it with any klassiker bier for $9 in the Bierhalle only. Klassiker bier includes Dunkel, Helles Lager, Pils and Hefeweizen.
CAN I FILL THE SOUVENIR .5L MUG IN THE FESTIVAL?
No. If you purchase the mug/bier combination for $9 in the festival area, you will be issued a red ticket to give to the Bierhalle staff to redeem your bier fill. We can only fill souvenir .5L mugs in the Bierhalle and can only fill them once. It is a health code violation to repeatedly fill the same glass in the Bierhalle. If you wish, the Bierhalle staff will gladly rinse it out for you before you take it home.
CAN I FILL MY GROWLER WITH ANNIVERSARY BIER?
Because we have a limited supply of anniversary festival bier, we are unable to fill growlers with specialty bier. You can, however, fill your growler with any of the bier available in the Bierhalle.
DOES THE BREWERY OPEN AT 11 AM OR 1 PM?
Our Bierhalle will open for normal business at regular hours at 11 AM. The anniversary bier festival takes place in the brewery and bottling hall where our bier is brewed and packaged and begins at 1 PM.
WILL THE BIERGARTEN BE OPEN?
The Biergarten is self-service, so it is technically always open. Here’s hoping for beautiful weather that day!
WILL YOU STILL HAVE THE 1 PM BREWERY TOUR?
Our regularly scheduled Saturday 1 PM brewery tour will not be offered because of the anniversary bier festival. Our brewers will be available to answer your questions about the bier, brewery or our processes. Brewery staff also will be available to answer general questions about KC Bier Co.
