KC Bier Co. is celebrating its 5th Anniversary with a bier festival in the brewery on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. featuring 24 small-batch specialty biers, German-style festival fare (new this year!) and plenty of Gemütlichkeit!
Details and FAQs
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Entry fee is $10 at the door and includes a 7 oz. sampling glass and five bier tokens. There are no advance ticket sales.
HOW DO I GET BIER?
One token is redeemable for a half-pour, two tokens can be redeemed for a full pour. Additional tokens will be available for purchase for $2 each.
CAN I BRING MY OWN MUG?
No. Outside mugs are not allowed in the anniversary bier festival or Bierhalle.
WHAT BIER WILL BE SERVED?
Each of our brewers made a unique style of his/her choosing, plus we’ll have a handful of high-alcohol and barrel-aged bier, vertical tastings of Winterbock, limited quantities of seasonal bier and several other spezial releases we’ve been reserving just for the occasion. This your opportunity to taste samples of our traditional German-style bier as well as our non-Reinheitsgebot-compliant bier. Click here for the full bier list.
WHERE DO I BUY TOKENS?
Tokens must be purchased at the designated token stations in the festival area only. You cannot purchase tokens in the Bierhalle.
ARE TOKENS REFUNDABLE IF I DON’T USE THEM ALL?
No, but save them! You can use them at future KC Bier Co. events that use the token system, such as Maifest, Oktoberfest, Anniversary Bier Festival and others advertised as using the token system.
CAN I USE LEFTOVER TOKENS FROM PREVIOUS KC BIER CO EVENTS?
See above. You’ll still have to pay the $10 fee to enter the festival, receive your souvenir sampling glass and five token “festival starter kit,” but consider those extra tokens you’ve stashed away as a little extra spending money.
CAN I USE TOKENS IN THE BIERHALLE?
No. We do not accept tokens as a form of payment in the Bierhalle for bier or food. They can only be used in the festival area for bier samples.
HOW DO I GET FOOD?
Food can be purchased at the designated food station in the festival area. We accept cash or card. Food is not included with the $10 entry fee.
CAN I USE TOKENS TO BUY FOOD?
No. Food purchases may be made with cash or card.
WHAT FOOD WILL BE SERVED?
We will serve a limited menu of traditional Bavarian pretzels, bratwurst, bier cheese suppe and pork gulasch in the anniversary bier festival area. Festivalgoers who wish to order from our full menu must order, pay for and consume those menu items in the Bierhalle before returning to the festival.
WILL THERE BE A SOUVENIR MUG LIKE LAST YEAR?
A .5L souvenir anniversary mug will be available for purchase in the Bierhalle or in small quantities in the festival area.
WHAT IS THE COST FOR THE MUG?
You may purchase the mug only for $6, or purchase the mug and fill it with any klassiker bier for $9. Klassiker bier includes Dunkel, Helles Lager, Pils and Hefeweizen.
CAN I FILL THE SOUVENIR .5L MUG IN THE FESTIVAL?
No. If you purchase the mug/bier combination for $9 in the festival area, you will be issued a red ticket to give to the Bierhalle staff to redeem your bier fill. We can only fill souvenir .5L mugs in the Bierhalle, and can only fill them once. It is a health code violation to repeatedly fill the same glass in the Bierhalle. If you wish, the Bierhalle staff will gladly rinse it out for you before you take it home.
CAN I FILL MY GROWLER WITH ANNIVERSARY BIER?
Because we have a limited supply of anniversary festival bier, we are unable to fill growlers with specialty bier. You can, however, fill your growler with any of the bier available in the Bierhalle.
ARE YOU OPENING AT 11:00 A.M. OR 1:00 P.M.?
Our Bierhalle will open for normal business at regular hours at 11:00 a.m. The anniversary bier festival takes place outside of the Bierhalle in the brewery and bottling hall where our bier is brewed and packaged. This area will open to the public beginning at 1:00 p.m. when the anniversary bier festival begins.
WILL THE BIERGARTEN BE OPEN?
The Biergarten is self-service, so it is technically always open. Here’s hoping for beautiful weather that day!
WILL YOU STILL HAVE THE 1:00 P.M. BREWERY TOUR?
Our regularly scheduled Saturday 1:00 p.m. brewery tour will not be offered because of the anniversary bier festival. Our brewers will be available to answer your questions about the bier, brewery or our processes. Brewery staff also will be available to answer general questions about KC Bier Co.
